Friday tunes - These are a few of my favourite things.

Friday tunes is usually a selection of things I think you guys might like. Tonight it's all about me.

When I was a kid I was into nothing more than Old School dance music. As I got to be an old codger (37) my tastes have diversified widely.

This is my top ten favourite tunes.

Ten: ABBA - Does your mother know. Most of my changing music tastes come from when I did mobile discos with my mate. We were, 'Nomad Discos', and we travelled the North West causing mayhem. Good times. ABBA isn't for everyone, but they're always popular at functions.

Nine: Lipps Inc - Funkytown. Back in the day *Reminisces* there was a crappy nightclub in Blackburn that used to do a seventies disco on a Wednesday night. I didn't go often because you can only book so many Thursdays off work before the boss gets annoyed.

Eight: Julian Cope - World shut you mouth. I discovered Julian Cope by accident through a bloke at work. Everything he listened to was pants, so I assumed JC would be too, until I heard this one on The Vault while down the pub.

Seven: Billy Ocean - Get outta my dreams. Another one from the mobile disco days, this one is mainly a bunch of vehicle related innuendos.

Six: Creedence Clearwater Revival - Bad moon rising. A few years back, me and Mrs Bucko got into the series, Supernatural. There's some great rocky tunes featured on that series and I've ended up acquiring all the good ones. This tune was also on that classic of classic films, An American Werewolf in London.

Five: Aerosmith - Love in an elevator. Spandex tunes were never my thing as a kid, but a lifelong friend of mine has always been into them. Now I am too, and this is one of my favourite examples. Leather, spandex and pug ugly. Nothing is missing.

Four: The Pogues and The Dubliners - The Irish Rover. A bit different, but I'm also into Irish stuff. I like the Dubliners and the Pogues, although they are from East London or something. This one gives a bit of both. The Dubliners were on Jules Holland this New Years Eve. It was a cracking performance, did you see it?

Three: Fleetwood Mac - Don't stop (thinking about tomorrow). I have no idea when I first heard this tune or how it ended up in my collection. It's a regular listen these days though.

.

Two: Coast 2 Coast - The Hucklebuck. There are many fifties rock 'n' roll tunes I could have picked for number two. I love everything about rock 'n' roll. In the end I picked this remake from the eighties. The original Hucklebuck was good, but it tires me out watching these guys. Anyway, for number two, just think anything rock 'n' roll.

One: I'm very, very sorry.

So that's my top ten. To be honest, if you asked me again next week I would probably pick ten totally different tunes. There's so much good stuff out there. (Not new stuff though).

And I invite you to send me your top tens and I'll stick 'em up.

Now why not pop over and see Microdave? Tonight he has a lot of shit. Enjoy
