Not much to say, except it is the first full length movie directed by a Kiwi named Peter Jackson who I understand has done quite well for himself since.
Never heard of him
Well he is a bit of an auteur, mainly art house sort of stuff
I IMDB'd him. Still never heard of most of his work but he did all the Lord of the Rings stuff. Which I didn't like
